Few things are certain when you’re buying or selling a veterinary practice, except perhaps for the diversity of clients and pets that come through your door. You’re likely to have clients with various levels of pet ownership experience, including some nervous first-time pet parents. Caring for a pet is no small endeavor. In addition to all of the help and advice your practice will provide, here are some of the top apps for pet owners to make the transition smooth, rewarding, and fun for all.

Category: First Aid/Emergency
Developer: The American Red Cross
A must-have for all dog and cat owners, the Pet First Aid app was developed by The American Red Cross. Content-rich, with easy-to-follow how-to videos, a list of the closest vet hospitals, an early warning sign checker for preventive care, and first aid steps for over 25 of the most common health situations pets may encounter, this app gives dog and cat owners peace of mind.
The app also features quizzes where your veterinary clients can test their first aid knowledge for pets. The only downside is that it isn’t geared toward birds, small animals, and exotic pets.
Pet First Aid is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Apps for Cat Owners
4. Cat Training
Category: Training
This straightforward app can give your clients insights into the curious nature of cats. Notoriously known as untrainable, this app shows that cats can learn some simple commands and tricks. Cat owners can teach their kitten how to use the litterbox or cat flap, or try some more advanced tricks on their grownup cats.
The app also promises to help cat owners with midnight zoomies – do let us know if it actually
works! Cat Training is only available on Google Play Store.
